In-Town Soccer (K - 2nd grade)

For children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Coed teams. Kindergarteners and 1st/2nd graders are in separate groups.

Players are introduced to basic soccer skills and practice them through games and informal scrimmages.

Kindergartners:

Hour-long soccer clinic on Sunday mornings at 10:30.

1st & 2nd Graders:

Hour-long game/scrimmage on Sunday mornings at 11:45
1 weekday practice. Days/timing determined by coach each season.

Required Equipment

Player is expected to arrive at practice with:

• Soccer ball (size 3)

• Shin pads

• Soccer shoes with rubber cleats (no metal cleats). Cleats cannot have a center "toe" cleat (most baseball cleats have one).

• Water bottle

Jerseys

GYS will provide a team shirt at the first practice.

Does my child have to live in Groveland to register?

No. All are welcome to register and participate!

My child has a lot of soccer experience. Can they move up to the MVP Travel Soccer program for 3rd and 4th graders?

All requests for a league change should be sent to bowers.gys@gmail.com. The GYS Board and any of your player's previous coaches will determine if a league change is appropriate.

Spring 2026

Kindergartners:

The Spring 2026 season is expected to run from 4/12/26 to 6/7/26. Season dates are subject to change.

Pricing:

$80 per player

Registration closes on March 13th. Registration is still possible after that date but will incur a $20 late registration fee.
